Revolutionary Étude in C minor / Richter, 1962 Recital, Italy: Op. 10, No. 12 - Chopin, DG

So that there is no question in the mind of the listener, I rely principally on images of the LP and LP jacket in order to document the authenticity of historically important recordings such as these. Images: Label, 0:30; LP jacket, front, 0:59; detail from LP jacket reverse, 1:35; LP jacket, reverse, 1:52; imagery of Chopin, 2:02; biographical information from LP jacket and notes indicating place of performance, 2:28; links to other tracks from this recording, 3:04. In this live recording (applause can be heard at 2:20) from a 1962 concert tour of Rome, Palermo and Venice, Sviatoslav Richter performs Chopin's Étude in C major, Op. 10, No. 1. I created this video from the LP depicted above, "Svjatoslav Richter - Recital," issued in 1962 on the Deutsche Grammophon label, serial number 138 849. All images used in the creation of this video were taken from the LP and LP jacket. ---------------------------------------------------------- More from Richter: Ballade No. 4, Op. 52 - Chopin - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75baiLnZgkY Tchaikovsky / Richter / Von Karajan, 1962: Piano Concerto in B flat Minor, Op. 23 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwG80bxGgsQ Beethoven / Richter, 1976: Sonata No. 7 in D, Op. 10, No. 3 - Complete - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0JssIp-U1Y Beethoven / Sviatoslav Richter, 1976: Piano Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 2, No. 1 - Complete - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4KGTrk9ah4 Beethoven / Richter / Sanderling, 1962: Piano Concerto in C minor, Op. 37 - Complete - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ul6fHBoWCTE Brahms / Sviatoslav Richter, Borodin Quartet, 1958: Quintet in F minor, Op. 34 - Complete - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGQIofBDnbY Chopin - Étude in C major, Op. 10, No. 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3liIx5YpdI0 Debussy - Estampes - Soirée dans Grenade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnY5WU00a0w Debussy - Estampes - Jardins Sous La Pluie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jx0LpAPNESk ---------------------------------------------------------- My complete collection of keyboard works -- Chopin, Bach, Liszt, Brahms, Franck, Haydn, Debussy, Hindemith, Mozart and Beethoven performed by Yury Boukoff, Artur Balsam, Sylvia Marlowe, Maria João Pires, Edith Picht-Axenfeld, Ann Schein, Eugene Istomin, Domenico Cimarosa, Muzio Clementi, Baldassare Galuppi, Marguerite Long, Frank Pelleg, Edith Farnadi, José Echániz, Byron Janis, Guiomar Novaes, Jorge Bolet, Nadia Reisenberg, Alexander Brailowsky, Wilhelm Kempff, Walter Gieseking, E.
