A soldier's song with a marching chorus based on the poem of the same name by Pushkin. Recorded from the melody of Dolsky, arrangmenet by Nikitin. Performed by Dmitry Tugarinov (tenor, baritone, bass). Prophetic Oleg is preparing to smite The foolish Khazárs for invading. Their fields and their villages he’ll set alight In payback for criminal raiding. Chorus: So louder music, play victory! We have won, and the enemy is running, one, two! So for the Tsar, for the Motherland, for the Faith We'll hit a loud hurray, hurray, hurray! The woods in this place are the home of a mage And now he walks into the clearing. Disciple of sun-god, prophetic old sage He knows what in future is nearing. Chorus “Oh tell me, magician, beloved of gods, What fortune is coming to meet me? Of murder by enemies what are the odds? Will bloodthirsty pagans defeat me?
