Clase 1. El abecedario ruso.
EN The Russian alphabet has 33 letters and is based on the Cyrillic script, which was created in the 9th century. The English alphabet, on the other hand, is Latin-based and has only 26 letters. Some Russian letters look similar to English ones but have different sounds. For example, "С" is pronounced [s], not [k], and "Р" sounds like [r], not [p]. Another important difference is handwriting. In Russia, people rarely use printed letters when writing by hand. Instead, they use cursive (propisi), where letters have different shapes. So, to read and write in Russian, you need to learn both printed and cursive forms of the alphabet.
