The Gross Reality of Being Doc Holliday - It WAS NOT Like Hollywood!

Hollywood gave you a pale, elegant, witty gambler with a tragic little cough. The real Doc Holliday was a walking biohazard, rotting from the inside out for fifteen straight years. Welcome back to The Hidden Lens. I'm Mr. Vee, and today we go where Hollywood wouldn't: inside the body of the famous gunslinger from the O.K. Corral, to live the gross reality of advanced tuberculosis. The violent coughing fits that sprayed infected blood across card tables. The disease eating holes in his lungs and consuming him down to skin and bones. The drenching night sweats, the fevers, and the rotting smell it put on his breath. The fact that he was a trained dentist nobody would let near their mouth. And the medieval 1880s cures, from drinking creosote, the tar they soak railroad ties in, to blister plasters burned onto his chest, to the whiskey and laudanum he lived on just to stand it, right up to the sulfur springs that didn't save him. He died in bed at thirty-six. This was not like Hollywood. Hit subscribe and give it a like. 0:00 Doc Holliday: Who Was the Gunfighter at the O.K.
