KINO - Gruppa Krovi (Группа крови) (BLOOD TYPE) English Cover | Indie Rock / Post-Punk / Psychedelic

What if “Gruppa Krovi / Группа крови” by Kino (Кино) was reborn in English? This is our English cover version of Viktor Tsoi’s legendary Soviet rock classic, “Gruppa Krovi” (“Blood Type”). We kept the spirit and emotion of the original Russian lyrics, but adapted them into singable English lines so people around the world can feel the story behind this iconic song. Originally released in the late 1980s, “Группа крови” became an anthem for a whole generation in the USSR. Many listeners connect it with themes of war, conscription and inner conflict, and see it as a quiet anti-war statement and a symbol of youth and resistance.
