Harry is a "bigfoot," and the Hendersons are the family he ended up with. When they were returning from a camping trip, their car was hit by a hairy monster on a forest road. The family drags the unconscious body into the car and takes it to their home, where the mysterious creature comes to his senses. Trying to keep Harry's existence a secret, the Hendersons are forced to hide him from both the authorities and the man who set himself the goal of killing the "bigfoot" in his life...
